The month of February 2026 was both active and productive for CLFMA OF INDIA, with several important engagements, advocacy initiatives, and industry interactions aimed at strengthening the livestock and allied sectors.
Some of the key highlights are outlined below:

CLFMA Representation to Government of India – 2nd February, 2026:
CLFMA OF INDIA submitted a representation to Dr. Muthukumarasamy B., Joint Secretary (NLM), Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, requesting government intervention to impose an immediate ban on the export of De-Oiled Rice Bran (DORB) in order to safeguard domestic feed availability and stabilize prices.

CLFMA Representation on Soybean Meal Availability – 6th February, 2026:
CLFMA OF INDIA also addressed a letter to Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, highlighting the serious concerns regarding soybean meal availability and escalating prices, which are adversely affecting the livestock and poultry sectors.

CEAH Academy Podcast – 6th February, 2026:
In Episode 34 of the CEAH Academy Podcast, Mr. Divya Kumar Gulati, Chairman, CLFMA OF INDIA, shared insights into the association’s legacy and vision. He highlighted CLFMA’s role since 1967 in coordinating the livestock feed sector, generating authentic industry data, and promoting awareness on quality standards and commodity markets such as corn and soybean. Addressing the youth, he emphasized the immense growth potential of the livestock sector, stating that it could expand from a ₹20 lakh crore industry to ₹40 lakh crore in the coming years.

World Seafood Congress (WSC) 2026 at Chennai Trade Centre (9–11 February 2026):
India hosted the World Seafood Congress (WSC) 2026 for the first time at the Chennai Trade Centre, bringing together global seafood industry leaders to discuss sustainability, innovation, seafood safety, and international trade. The event was organised by PDA Ventures and supported by the International Association of Fish Inspectors (IAFI).
On 11th February 2026, Shri. Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary (Inland Fisheries), Department of Fisheries, Government of India, visited the exhibition and interacted with exhibitors including CLFMA.
Shri. Tarun Sridhar, IAS (Retd.), Director General, ICFA and former Secretary, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, also appreciated the role played by CLFMA in supporting the livestock sector.
CLFMA OF INDIA participated with Stall No. B209, which received encouraging response from both domestic and international delegates. Col. Vinay Kumar, Executive Director; Mr. Nissar F. Mohammed, Hon. Secretary; and Mr. Dinesh Ambavkar represented CLFMA at the event. Around 65 visitors interacted at the CLFMA stall.

Chairman’s Message for “Poultry in India–Edition 2026”–11th February 2026:
CLFMA OF INDIA shared a message from Mr. Divya Kumar Gulati, Chairman, for inclusion in the forthcoming publication “Poultry in India – Edition 2026” by White Wing Office. The Association appreciates such initiatives that strengthen knowledge sharing and industry connectivity.

A Meeting of the High-Level Committee constituted for drafting the National Animal Feed Act was held on 13th February, 2026 at 10:00 AM in hybrid mode under the Chairmanship of Shri.Tarun Shridhar, IAS (Retd.):
A Meeting of the High-Level Committee for drafting the National Animal Feed Act, 2026, was held in hybrid mode under the Chairmanship of Shri. Tarun Sridhar, IAS (Retd.). The discussions focused on the regulatory framework, quality standards, and governance structure for the animal feed sector.
From CLFMA OF INDIA, Col. Vinay Kumar participated in the deliberations and represented the views of the feed manufacturing industry. Subsequently, CLFMA submitted a representation to Ms.Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary (CDD/Trade/CE&P), Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, requesting that the proposed Feed Act remain under the Department’s purview rather than being transferred to FSSAI.
The meeting witnessed the participation of nearly 35 officials representing various departments and stakeholders.

CLFMA Representation on Feed Act – 17th February 2026:
CLFMA OF INDIA submitted a formal representation to Ms. Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary (CDD / Trade / CE&P), Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, regarding the drafting and implementation of the proposed Feed Act 2026.

CLFMA OF INDIA participation in FSSAI Stakeholder Consultation on Antibiotic Residues – 17th February 2026:
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) organised a Stakeholder Consultation on Antibiotic Residues at FDA Bhawan, New Delhi. The meeting brought together representatives from industry associations, feed manufacturers, and regulatory bodies to discuss implementation challenges and regulatory clarity.
Col. Vinay Kumar attended the consultation on behalf of CLFMA of India. Around 84 stakeholders participated in the meeting both physically and online.

Poultry Seminar on 21st February, 2026 at Le Meridien, Coimbatore:
The IPR Knowledge Review on the theme “Disease Dynamics and Control Strategies in Modern Poultry Production” was organized by the Broiler Coordination Committee (BCC) in association with CLFMA OF INDIA, with the support of VIP Vets in Poultry on Saturday, 21st February, 2026 at Le Meridien.
The event brought together poultry industry experts, veterinarians, and professionals to discuss emerging disease challenges and effective control strategies in modern poultry production.
The programme was graced by Guest of Honour Mr. Uday Singh Bayas, representing the Indian Poultry Equipment Manufacturers Association and Poultry India Expo. Mr. C. Saravanan Chinnasamy, South Zone President of CLFMA OF INDIA, also attended as Guest of Honour. Mr. Divya Kumar Gulati, Chairman of CLFMA OF INDIA, was invited but could not attend due to an emergency.
The Keynote Address was delivered by Dr. P. K. Shukla, Professor and Head at DUVASU, Mathura, who emphasized the importance of biosecurity, disease surveillance, and integrated health management in modern poultry production.
Mr. R. Ramkutty, Treasurer of CLFMA OF INDIA and Chairman & Managing Director of Niswin Group, also addressed the gathering and highlighted the need for stronger collaboration between poultry producers, veterinarians, and feed manufacturers to address disease challenges effectively.
The review session facilitated meaningful discussions on current disease dynamics affecting poultry production, preventive strategies, advances in veterinary science, and the role of industry stakeholders in strengthening health management practices. Participants appreciated the platform for knowledge sharing and emphasized the need for continued industry–academia collaboration to address evolving disease threats.
The event concluded with a shared commitment among stakeholders to strengthen biosecurity, adopt scientific management practices, and work collectively to ensure a resilient and sustainable poultry sector in India. Around 50 to 60 participants attended the event.

The 3rd Meeting of the Standardization Cell was held under the Chairmanship of Shri. Sagar Mehra, Joint Secretary (Inland Fisheries), Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India, on 26th February 2026 at 12:30 PM via video conference. From CLFMA OF INDIA, Ms. Shilpa Utekar, Manager CLFMA attended the Meeting.
