April 2026 was a forward-looking and engagement-driven month for CLFMA OF INDIA, marked by active participation across policy platforms, industry forums, and international collaborations within the livestock and agriculture sectors. The Association continued to strengthen its role as a credible industry voice, contributing meaningfully to discussions on feed, nutrition, and sustainable livestock production in India.

 

Some of the key highlights are outlined below:

CLFMA’s meeting with the Government of India on 9th April 2026, following its formal representation advocating for the inclusion of Safe Food-to-Feed Pathways in FSSAI guidelines on food waste disposal. Represented by Chairman Mr. Divya Kumar Gulati and Executive Director Col.Vinay Kumar, CLFMA emphasized the potential of converting food waste into animal feed to enhance sustainability, improve resource efficiency, and optimize costs. The Government acknowledged the inputs and initiated further internal deliberations.

 

On the same day, CLFMA participated in a virtual session organized by ICAR–Indian Institute of Maize Research on the “Road Map for Sustainable Maize Production in India.” The discussions focused on productivity enhancement, climate-resilient practices, and strengthening value chains. CLFMA highlighted the importance of timely sowing and an integrated approach to ensure long-term sustainability in maize production.

CLFMA also participated in a Government of India review meeting on 10th April 2026 regarding dairy product exports. Key concerns such as shipment delays due to geopolitical disruptions were raised by industry stakeholders, and the Government assured appropriate measures to address the situation.

On 15th April 2026, CLFMA engaged in a stakeholder discussion with Satsure on the dissemination of the Maize Survey Report. The meeting emphasized the need for more effective outreach of generated data and proposed the formation of Governance and Execution Task Forces to ensure better implementation and communication across stakeholders.

Strengthening international engagement, CLFMA hosted representatives from the Australian High Commission on 17th April 2026. The discussions focused on enhancing bilateral trade opportunities and fostering collaboration in the livestock sector, with a shared vision for sustainable growth and innovation.

 

Further advancing global partnerships, CLFMA hosted Ms. Kim Baldwin, Board Chairperson of the United Sorghum Checkoff Program, on 20th April 2026. The interaction, along with representatives from the U.S. Grains & Bioproducts Council, centered on strengthening trade relations and exploring growth opportunities in sorghum and grain-based livestock nutrition.

CLFMA also contributed to policy development by participating in the High-Level Committee Meeting on 21st April 2026 for drafting the National Animal Feed Act. The Association emphasized the need for a clear registration framework and recommended that the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying lead the implementation, ensuring a structured and efficient regulatory ecosystem.

The month concluded on a high note with CLFMA’s active participation in VIV Select India 2026 (22–24 April 2026), marking the successful debut of this global platform in India. CLFMA’s stall witnessed strong engagement from industry stakeholders, reflecting its leadership position in the sector. Key CLFMA representatives who visited the stall included Viz. Divya Kumar Gulati, Chairman, Suresh Deora, Immediate Past Chairman, Past Chairmen Mr. C. Vasanthkumar, Dr. Dinesh Bhosale & Mr. S. V. Bhave, Dr. A. S. Ranade, Chairman of CLFMA Technical Committee, CLFMA West Zone President, Dr. Saikat Saha, Mr.Anushrav Gulati, Member of CLFMA International Liaison Committee, CLFMA North Zone President Dr.Devender Hooda, Dr. Vijay Makhija, Chairman of CLFMA Feed Additive and Customs Committee.

 

The CLFMA Secretariat team, led by Col. Vinay Kumar, along with Ms. Shilpa Utekar, Ms.Shraddha Kadam, and Mr. Dinesh Ambavkar, efficiently managed the stall and ensured smooth coordination throughout the event.

 

The event set a strong foundation for future collaborations and industry growth, with participation from key national and international stakeholders.

CLFMA OF INDIA Office Bearers, CLFMA Chairman Mr. Divya Kumar Gulati, Hon. Secretary Mr.Nissar F. Mohammed, Treasurer Mr. Ramkutty, Immediate Past Chairman Mr. Suresh Deora, and Mr. Sameer Chotai (Member, Feed Additives and Customs Committee) visited Krishi Bhavan on 23rd April 2026 to extend an invitation for the 59th Annual General Meeting and 67th National Symposium, 2026.

 

The invitation was extended to Mr. Naresh Pal Gangwar, Secretary (AHD), Ms. Varsha Joshi, Additional Secretary (CDD), Dr. Muthukumarasamy B., Joint Secretary (NLM/SD) and Dr.Gagan Garg, Joint Commissioner (Trade), Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India.

CLFMA of India – Participation in 5th Regional Advisory Council (RAC) Meeting of Soy Excellence Center – India on 30th April 2026. Deliberations focused on reviewing progress, identifying priority areas, and strengthening strategic direction, while reinforcing India’s position as a globally aligned platform for workforce development and enhanced industry impact on national growth.

 

CLFMA OF INDIA was well represented at the meeting by Mr. Divya Kumar Gulati, CLFMA Chairman, and various other dignitaries. The CLFMA delegation marked its valuable presence and actively contributed to the discussions.
