Monthly Round Up August, 2026

 

 

Dear CLFMA Members and Industry Colleagues,

 

August 2026 was another significant and productive month for CLFMA OF INDIA, marked by important policy engagements, stakeholder consultations, industry advocacy, and preparations for one of the Association's most prestigious annual events.

 

During the month, CLFMA OF INDIA continued to reinforce its role as a trusted voice of India's livestock, poultry, aquaculture, and animal feed industries. Through meaningful engagement with the Government of India, industry stakeholders, researchers, academicians, and allied organizations, the Association continued its efforts towards addressing key sectoral challenges and promoting sustainable growth and development.

 

From advocating for improved availability of critical feed ingredients and strengthening industry–government dialogue to promoting scientific livestock nutrition, knowledge exchange, innovation, sustainability, and disease preparedness, CLFMA remained actively engaged in issues of importance to India's rapidly growing animal agriculture sector.

Key Highlights - August 2026:

 

 

Stakeholder Consultation Meeting on Availability of Fish Meal on 5th August, 2026:

 

CLFMA OF INDIA Hon. Secretary, Mr. Nissar Mohammed, attended the Stakeholder Consultation Meeting convened by the Department of Fisheries, Government of India, on 5th August 2026 at 3:00 PM through video conferencing. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Joint Secretary (IF&MF), Department of Fisheries, Government of India, to discuss issues concerning the availability of Fish Meal.

 

During the meeting, Mr. Nissar Mohammed highlighted the growing challenges faced by the Fish Meal industry and the difficulties being experienced with regard to the availability of Fish Meal. He emphasized the need for appropriate policy interventions and suggested that the existing policies be reviewed to address the concerns of the industry.

 

He further stated that the Fish Meal industry has not received adequate attention and requested the Department to consider the issue on priority and take necessary measures to support the industry and ensure the availability of Fish Meal.

 

The Secretary, Department of Fisheries, acknowledged the concerns raised and assured the participants that the Department would examine the matter and take appropriate steps in this regard.

CLFMA OF INDIA's 67th  National Symposium 2026:

 

Preparations are in full swing for CLFMA OF INDIA's flagship annual event – the 67th National Symposium 2026, scheduled to be held on:

 

Date : 11th – 12th September 2026

 

Venue : The Leela Mumbai

 

The Symposium will bring together an eminent gathering of policymakers, senior Government officials, international experts, scientists, researchers, academicians, industry leaders, feed manufacturers, livestock producers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders from across the animal agriculture value chain.The event will provide a premier platform for meaningful dialogue, knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and discussion on the future of India's livestock, poultry, aquaculture, and animal feed industries.

 

The deliberations are expected to focus on key issues related to the livestock sector viz. Sustainable animal nutrition and feed security, Innovation and technological advancement, Livestock and poultry productivity, Aquaculture development, Disease preparedness and animal health, Sustainability and responsible production, Policy and regulatory developments, Research, knowledge exchange, and capacity building, & Strengthening India's competitiveness in global animal agriculture.

 

The CLFMA National Symposium continues to serve as one of India's most respected platforms for dialogue between Government, industry, academia, research institutions, and other stakeholders.
