Representations by CLFMA:
CLFMA’s efforts are on regarding AP Feed Act. CLFMA sent a letter to Sri. Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on 18th February’22 and requested him to give us an appointment for CLFMA Delegation to discuss on the same further. Parallely, in that connection CLFMA has consulted M/s. Khetan and Company, Mumbai.
After getting no response from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, again on 23rd February 2022, CLFMA forwarded a request letter sent to Sri. Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh & requested Sri P.Krishna Mohan Reddy, Officer on Special Duty to Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh & also to Dr. (Smt.) Poonam Malakondaiah, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, AHD, Andhra Pradesh to kindly help CLFMA to get an appointment of Hon’ble Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. CLFMA had a word with Sri.Sriram – Consultant to AP Government and Industries and as per his advice forwarded a letter to Sri. P. Krishna Mohan Reddy.
On 18th February 2022, CLFMA sent a letter to Mr. Somu Kumar Ambat, Sapience Agribusiness Consulting LLP, Bangalore, inviting him to join as part of CLFMA – Feed Supplement Committee and to support CLFMA Feed Supplement Committee as a Sub-Committee Member and address the queries received from the Government of India viz. FSSAI, BIS, Animal Husbandry, Dairy & Fishery Department and other member queries, if any. He accepted CLFMA Invitation by sending email to CLFMA.
Meetings:
On 12th February 2022, Mr. Kushagra Mungee, Manager- Trade from Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation (MCDC), Pune had a meeting with CLFMA Chairman Mr. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava. MCDC is connected to FPO’s of Maharashtra, who has more than 4000-5000 maize growing farmers under them. Mr.Kushagra Mungee has proposed to conduct an online webinar for connecting the maize farmers with the industry in the coming months.
10th Research Council Meeting of MAFSU was scheduled on 28th February attended by Dr.R.S.Masali at University Head Quarter, Futala Lake Road, Nagpur.
CLFMA had a meeting with U.S. Embassy, Agriculture Department on 24th February, 2022 at 12:00 Noon after getting request from U.S. Embassy. From U.S. Embassy, Minister Counsellor Ron Verdonk & Dr.Santosh K Singh, Senior Agriculture Specialist visited CLFMA Office. U.S. Embassy Delegation was welcomed by CLFMA Dy. Chairman Mr. Divya Kumar Gulati and Hon. Secretary Mr. Suresh Deora and Executive Director Ms. Chandrika Venkatesh. CLFMA Executive Director Ms. Chandrika Venkatesh gave a presentation about CLFMA and its activities for the purpose of increasing the visibility of the Association. The major points discussed was hovering around Soybean meal issues, GM Policy, Involvement of Ministry of Environment in the Animal Husbandry related GM Feed. Both parties agreed to have a separate meeting during the second week of March 2022.
Webinar:
CLFMA organised a webinar in association with AICOSCA was scheduled on the topic “Decorticated Cottonseed Meal (A Rich Source of Protein) for Milch Cattle, Poultry and Aqua” on February 18, 2022, from 14:00 pm to 16:00 pm. The Webinar was moderated by Dr.Devender Hooda, CLFMA Zonal President - North. CLFMA Chairman Mr. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava delivered the Opening Remarks. He thanked all the participants, industry colleagues, CLFMA Members, all eminent speakers, etc. for joining the webinar. AICOSCA Chairman Shri. Sandeep Bajoria delivered the Opening Remarks and thanked all the participants for joining the Webinar. The First Speaker of the Webinar was Shri. R. D. Bohra, Hon. Treasurer, AICOSCA, He gave very good insights about “Use of Cotton Seed Meal as a Protein Rich and Economical Feed Ingredient for Milch Cattle, Aqua and Poultry”. Second Speaker of the Webinar was Dr. S. V. Rama Rao, Principal Scientist (Nutrition), Directorate of Poultry Research, ICAR, Hyderabad. He is an eminent scientist in Poultry Science. Dr. S. V. Rama Rao gave presentation on “Cottonseed Meal in Poultry Diet” – A Potential Alternate to Soybean Meal”, which was appreciated by all. Third Speaker of the Webinar was Dr. R. H. Balasubramanya, Retd. Principal Scientist, Central Institute for Research on Cotton Technology (CIRCOT-ICAR). He gave a presentation on the topic, ‘Value Addition to Cottonseed By-Products” with emphasis on “Cottonseed Meal”. Fourth and the last speaker of the Webinar was Dr. D. Srinivas Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Animal Nutrition, College of Veterinary Science, Sri. Venkateswara Veterinary University, Garividi, Vizianagaram (Dist) and he gave a presentation on “The Potential of Cottonseed Meal as Cattle Feed Ingredient” in detail. After completion of the presentation by Dr. D. Srinivas Kumar, Forum was opened for the Q & A Session, questions asked by the participants were satisfactorily answered by the Speakers. The Webinar ended with the summarization and vote of thanks by Mr. Peravali Kotirao, Hon. Secretary, AICOSCA. The Webinar was in association with AICOSCA and was appreciated by the participants. Almost 242 registered for the said Webinar and 131 participants attended the Webinar.
Stakeholder Outreach:
CLFMA prepared its 6th Feed Additive List after getting approved from CLFMA Technical Committee. Subsequently, CLFMA OF INDIA sent a request letter on 25th February 2022 to Shri. G. N. Singh, Joint Secretary (Admin/Trade/GC/PC/IC), Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying, Government of India, Krishi Bhavan, Dr. Rajendra Prasad Road, New Delhi – 110001. for approval & Inclusion of the suggested CLFMA OF INDIA’s - 6th Feed Additive list in DAHD, DOF under MOFAHD approved list. CLFMA again sent a copy to Dr. Praveen Malik, Animal Husbandry Commissioner, Department of AH&D and Dr.Gagan Garg, Dy. Commissioner (Trade), Department of AH&D, New Delhi and requested them to help us to approve our 6th Feed Additive List.
7th Edition of Feed Tech Expo scheduled on 24-25-26 March’ 2022 at Kingston Event Centre, Kurukshetra is cancelled due to some market uncertainties, CLFMA got email from Benison Media Team in this regard. We are planning for a Webinar on GST and Seminars on Poultry, Dairy & Aqua soon. Intimation of the respective Webinar / Seminars will be communicated by CLFMA Secretariat from time to time in the upcoming months.
