Dear CLFMA Members & Industry Colleagues,

March 2022 was an engaging month for us in CLFMA.
In the month of March, CLFMA had several opportunities to present ourselves and show Livestock Industry’s interest on various platforms. CLFMA continues to move forward in delivering its mandates as the Apex association for the livestock industry in India, with all your sustained and timely patronage.
Let me give you a glimpse of the CLFMA’s important activities for the Month of March 2022:

Representations by CLFMA:

CLFMA sent request letters on 11th March, 2022 for the appointment with the below mentioned officials & subsequently CLFMA delegation met on 22nd and 23rd March, 2022. In addition to that, CLFMA also wrote a letter to Shri.G. N. Singh, JS (Admin/Trade/GC/IC), Dept of AH&D, New Delhi, Shri. Piyush Goyal, Minister for Commence and Industry, Dept. of Commerce, New Delhi, Smt. Anupriya Patel, MOS for Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce, New Delhi, Shri. Som Prakash, MOS for Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Department of Commerce, New Delhi & also to Shri. B.V.R. Subrahmanyam, Commerce Secretary, Office of Commerce Secretary, New Delhi to discuss about Maize and Soymeal issues. Special request is being made by CLFMA to the Government for its urgent intervention into the crisis of Soymeal and Maize faced by the Livestock Industry.

On 15th March, 2022, CLFMA sent a congratulatory letter to Prof. Anil Kumar Srivastava for being selected as a “Vice Chancellor” of UP Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Vishwavidyalaya Evam Go Anusandhan Sansthan, Mathura (U.P.) – 281 001, India.

On 22nd March, 2022, CLFMA sent request to Ms. Nitasha Doger, Sc.D & Member Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Feeds & Equipment Sectional Committee, FAD 5 Secretariat, BIS, New Delhi to nominate Dr.Pradeep Mahajan on behalf of CLFMA to participate and to be on the Committee of NPN of BIS.

23rd Meeting of FAD 05 - Animal Husbandry, Feeds and Equipment Sectional Committee Meeting scheduled on 22nd March 2022 at 10:00am was forwarded to Shri. Suresh Deora, Hon. Secretary and CLFMA Chairman Mr. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava. and Dr.Pradeep Mahajan, CLFMA Technical Committee Expert was nominated for the said event.

CLFMA Delegation as mentioned above met him and briefed him on the AP Feed Act. They had a good discussion with Shri. J. N. Swain.

9. Shri.Atul Chaturvedi, Secretary, Department of AH&D, New Delhi

CLFMA Delegation as mentioned above met him and discussed in detail the issues faced by the Livestock Sector.

CLFMA Delegation also met FICCI Mr. T R Kesavan Chairman, National Agriculture Committee, New Delhi.

Webinar:

On 9th March, 2022 Maharashtra Co-operative Development Corporation (MCDC), Pune along with CLFMA Organized Web Meeting from 3:30pm to 5:30pm. CLFMA Chairman Mr. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava (myself), delivered the welcome address and introduced CLFMA to the participants & thanked all the participants, industry colleagues, CLFMA Members, all eminent speakers, etc . for joining the Web Meeting. Some of the Eminent Speakers were Viz. Shri. Milind Aakre, Managing Director, MCDC, who gave an introduction of Maharashtra Cooperative Development Corporation. The Second eminent speaker was Shri.Shrushri Siddhi Satpute, Regional Head Rest of Maharashtra and Goa of Receivables Exchange of India Ltd. (RXIL), Pune, who spoke on “Information of receivable discounting”. The third and last eminent speaker was Shri. Ravi Kantimahanti, Director, Agri 10 X, who delivered presentation on the topic “Digital Platform”. Forum was opened for the Q & A Session, questions asked by the participants were satisfactorily answered by the Speakers. The Web Meeting ended with the summarization and vote of thanks by CLFMA Executive Director, Ms. Chandrika Venkatesh. The Web Meeting in association with MCDC was appreciated by the participants. Almost 38 participants attended the Webinar. MCDC has shown interest to associate with CLFMA officially to connect, CLFMA Feed Manufacturers with the FPOs’ who are Maize growers.

On 16th March 2022, BIS in association with CLFMA organized an “Awareness and Implementation Webinar on ‘Indian Standards on Cattle feed and feed ingredients’ from 15:00hrs. to 17:00hrs. The Program was attended by around 256 participants with significant participation from micro and medium-scale industries. Inaugurating the seminar, Sanjay Pant, Deputy Director General (Standardization), BIS, emphasized the role of Indian standards to strengthen the Cattle feed sector in India. He assured handholding by BIS at every step to support the Cattle feed industry in implementation and certification of Indian standards. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, Chairman, CLFMA in his address to the participants, highlighted the need for effective implementation of Indian standards both for Compounded Cattle Feed as well as Feed ingredients to achieve the desired quality of the feedstuffs.

Stakeholder Outreach:

CLFMA got a speaker invitation for CII’s National Conference on Poultry & Meat Industry on 21st March 2022, New Delhi from CII. Chairman Mr. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava (myself) participated as a Panellist at the Session on “Role of Technology, Capacity Building and Feed in enhancing the productivity and quality” scheduled from 14:00- 15:30 hrs.

CLFMA OF INDIA will participate in India International Aquaculture Expo 2022 scheduled on 7th & 8th April 2022 at Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India and are having stall No.7 in the said expo. We are planning for a Webinar on GST and Seminars on Poultry, Dairy & Aqua soon. Intimation of the respective Webinar / Seminars will be communicated by CLFMA Secretariat from time to time in the upcoming months.
