Greetings to all our members!
The New Financial Year 2022/23 has commenced and let all the livestock industry stake holders work together with a positive essence of strong understanding and co-operation for the betterment of our industry.
Let me give you a glimpse of few of the CLFMA’s Important activities for the Month of April 2022:

A Positive Response from GOI on the representations of CLFMA:

CLFMA got a letter from the office of the Hon’ble Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Shri. Som Prakash mentioning about CLFMA delegation approaching the ministry, regarding various Maize and Soybean raw material issues faced by the livestock industry due to price hikes.

CLFMA got a positive response and the government allowed import of 5.5 Lakh MT of Soya Meal, which is one of the great achievements of CLFMA. In this connection, we got a letter from GOI., on the subject “Review of prices and availability of essential commodities – Decision regarding import of GM Soya Meal” – reg., from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, Dept of Consumer Affairs, Shri. K. Guite, Economic Advisor dtd. 27.04.2022, wherein they have mentioned that the balance import of 5.50 Lakh MT of GM Soya meal, shall be allowed up to 30th September 2022.

Again, on 2nd May 2022, we got a letter in detail on the extension of relaxation of the provision under notification 20/2015-20 dated 24.08.2021 from GOI., Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Dept of Commerce, Directorate General of Foreign Trade, Udyog Bhavan duly signed by Shri. Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Directorate General of Foreign Trade & Ex-Officio Additional Secretary to the GOI.

Stakeholder Outreach:

CLFMA OF INDIA participated in India International Aquaculture Expo 2022(IIAE 2022), a 3-day Exhibition, Conference and Awards Function, which was held in Chennai Trade Centre, Chennai on 6-7-8 April 2022. Nine Government Officials, Scientists, Experts, Entrepreneurs and Farmers addressed and made presentations on different topics and aspects of Aquaculture sector in the one-day Conference held on April 6 titled as “UPDATE Knowledge on Aquaculture”. On this occasion, 18 stakeholders of Indian Aquaculture sector were honoured with Awards for the excellence they achieved in their profession and for their contribution to aquaculture development in India. The Conference – UPDATE Knowledge on Aquaculture with the theme: “Solutions for Sustainable Aquaculture Development – Need of Promoting Domestic Shrimp Consumption” was addressed by the speakers.

Dr G. Sugumar, Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu, Dr. J. Jayalalitha Fisheries University was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Mr. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava, Chairman - CLFMA of India (Myself), Dr. Satender Arya, CEO, ASCI, New Delhi, Mr Balasubramaniam V., General Secretary, Prawn Farmers Federation of India, Dr P.E. Cheran, AISHA – Tamil Nadu Region, Dr Akshaya Panigrahi, Principal Scientist, Central Institute of Brakishwater Water Aquaculture, Dr R. Rajkumar Singh, Assistant Vice President, C P Aquaculture (I) Pvt Ltd, Andhra Pradesh, Mr Hogne Abrahamsen, International Account Director, Zooca, Norway and Dr A. Jesu Arockia Raj, Founder & Head of FAITT, Aquaculture Innovations & Technology Transfer addressed and delivered excellent presentations in the said conference.

CLFMA OF INDIA had a stall No.7 in the said expo. Approx. 38 Nos. visitors visited CLFMA Stall, even though the size of Exhibition was small and moderate with exhibitors and visitors. The CLFMA secretariat team participated in the expo.

CLFMA OF INDIA promptly assisted its member by sending letter to Shri. Kaushal Kumar Pushpa, Appraising Officer, Maersk APM Terminal CFS Annexe, JNPT Administration Building Nhava Sheva, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra 400707 to clear their Consignment, which was stuck at the Nhava Sheva, JNPT port i.e., Imported consignment of Excential Butycoat 25 Kg from China, which is Sodium Butyrate 30% and imported under (HSN Code 23099010), to be used in poultry feed. CLFMA got request from its Member ORFFA, who acknowledged the receipt of letter from CLFMA immediately and their Consignment was released on the same day, the same was appreciated by the Member by sending thank you letter to CLFMA Chairman Mr. Neeraj Kumar Srivastava (myself) and CLFMA Secretariat.

We are planning for a Webinar on GST and some more Seminars on Poultry, Dairy & Aqua soon. Intimation of the respective Webinar / Seminars will be communicated by CLFMA Secretariat from time to time in the upcoming months.
